An important part of NIE's work is the sharing of our ideas and working methods. This happens through school performances, post-show discussions, workshops and lectures. We feel it adds to the experience of the performance and helps students to understand what making and performing an NIE show is all about.
NIE generally works with students aged 14 and over, but we also have developed shows and workshops for younger audiences. We provide practical workshops for school and college students. A workshop can consist of 2 hours, 8 hours, 3 days or a week. And anything in between.
On tour, NIE is able to hold post-show discussions, inviting audience members to stay on afterwards and quiz the creative team. On the News & Tours page you can find all our planned activities.
In Norway, the 'Culture in Schools' organisation, organises school tours for many of NIE´s shows. Find out more here: www.scenekunstbruket.no
Past Workshops for students have been held at Rose Bruford College (London, UK), The Junction (Cambridge, UK), Theatre Royal Drum (Plymouth, UK), Høyskole 1 Agder (Kristiansand, Norway), KLAD – DAMU (Prague, Czech Republic) and Odsherred Theater School (Nykøbing Sj, Denmark).
