Why join us?

‘I wanted to join NIE as a Trustee because of their inspiring performances and commitment to working inclusively with young people in local communities. Since joining, I have shared my experience of working with the Local Authority and hoped to contribute by bringing a different voice and perspective to the Board. As a black woman from Sweden, I feel strongly about Diversity and Equality matters which I’m pleased to say NIE take incredibly serious and forms part of their core values. This experience has been a great learning opportunity and tremendously rewarding.’

– Babette Lind (Board member since 2018)

‘I joined NIE as I am passionate about the development of young people having mentored my own and numerous others in both a work and charitable arena. I believe that giving young people opportunities for new experiences (with people from diverse backgrounds) is a fantastic platform for development and this is one of the key objectives of NIE. In addition, the commitment, professionalism and approachability of the NIE team was also a key factor in my decision to join this high performing team.’

– Seb Rana (Board member since 2019)
